I would have liked to see a 5-6 player board, families with 5 children are fairly common these days.
Dude, where do you live!? India? 5 kid families are almost nonexistent in urban centres in North America these days, and are fast vanishing in the country areas as well...
my struggle with this is that every time I've bought a kids version of a game I like, we end up playing the actual real game I like...because, well, I like it, and that interest means the kids are more interested as well. What kid wants to play the 'kid' version of anything? My 7 year old would be horribly insulted if he thought he wansn't getting the real goods...In addition, I want to play the real versions more, and suggest it always, as opposed to waiting for them to suggest.
Played Ingenious with my 5 and 7 year old last night (as my 2 year old threw dice at us and tried to flip the board), and it was amazingly fun. Yes, they lost and struggled with all the counting, but they loved getting the points, and especially being able to shout 'INGENIOUS!'
I remain unconvinced that this will be better than just buying Catan...came here to have my mind changed but it hasn't been...
